Comic Blast 4th of July

Remember as a kid getting your first firework sparklers and your mom yelling “Don’t run with the sparklers”! You’d watch it burn down to the end of the silver stuff and think (Oh man, it’s over already)?

What about Glow worms? When lit they oozed out … I don’t know what. You were left with these long, charred, cheese puff things. You saw the flames and smelled the smoke. Cool man!

July 5, on the ground lie little pieces of paper and red sticks from the — cover your ears — bottle rockets.

One year we did not have more fireworks so my dad lit a road flair in the back yard. We sat around and watched the awesomeness.

May watching bright colored lights give us strength.

Tulip Fields

Hello,

If you have ever been to a tulip field you know when the sunlight hits the rows of blossoms a feeling of joy can come over you. The bright warm colors mixed with pastels have an uplifting effect on the brain. The light bouncing off many colors all at once creates one of those moments in time to pause.

Bunny and Flowers

Happy Spring!

I do my artwork near a window with a view of my garden. Bright green leaves are starting to appear and a few flowers. With this new growth comes the bunnies. Little brown bunnies hopping around eating all my plants. I have a photo of a baby bunny eating planted celery and thought it might make a great Spring/Easter illustration.

Chick and egg design

Hello all,

I thought I would share my love of cloisonné eggs with you by trying to design one in bright spring colors. After deciding the egg looked best with a purple base I added the yellow chick. To answer the age-old question “What came first the chicken or the egg?” Purple eggs come first.

Comic Blast

I love the boldness and colors used in comics. A lot of movies are comic themed and I manage to see most of them. I wanted to make my own comic blast design using classic colors. The bursts are sourced from the font “Altemus RoughCuts” that I bought on Myfonts.com.
