I found the font “Maris Halftone Medium” on MyFonts.com and I really like it. The font has an uneven outline and whimsical, pinhole texture. The texture does not show at the size I used it here but would be cute if used hundreds of points high on a banner or something. A lot of the letters in Maris have fun flourishes that worked out well for my Happy Birthday design.

Comic Blast

I love the boldness and colors used in comics. A lot of movies are comic themed and I manage to see most of them. I wanted to make my own comic blast design using classic colors. The bursts are sourced from the font “Altemus RoughCuts” that I bought on Myfonts.com.

Artwork is a digital photo collage of hand painted paper. Materials used: Liquitex, Heavy Body acrylic on Canson XL watercolor paper. Illustration created in Adobe Illustrator.
