Tulip Fields

Hello,

If you have ever been to a tulip field you know when the sunlight hits the rows of blossoms a feeling of joy can come over you. The bright warm colors mixed with pastels have an uplifting effect on the brain. The light bouncing off many colors all at once creates one of those moments in time to pause.

Highland Fling Capelet Crochet Pattern

Hello,

I wanted to share this weekend’s project with you.

It is still raining many days and crochet is such a cozy thing to do. I have many skeins of yarn in the “Homespun” line from Lions Brand so I looked on their website for patterns. This caplet pattern, #L40509, is a free download named “Highland Fling Capelet.” The project takes one skein and is a easy level pattern. I used the color Wild Fire #408 in my project.
You can find the pattern at this link:

http://www.lionbrand.com/highland-fling-capelet.html

I followed the instructions and mine does not look exactly like the pattern picture (they did a shorter collar) but it is still adorable. This caplet has a single crochet cord that runs through holes in an eyelet row.

Best wishes,
Connie

Bunny and Flowers

Happy Spring!

I do my artwork near a window with a view of my garden. Bright green leaves are starting to appear and a few flowers. With this new growth comes the bunnies. Little brown bunnies hopping around eating all my plants. I have a photo of a baby bunny eating planted celery and thought it might make a great Spring/Easter illustration.

Chick and egg design

Hello all,

I thought I would share my love of cloisonné eggs with you by trying to design one in bright spring colors. After deciding the egg looked best with a purple base I added the yellow chick. To answer the age-old question “What came first the chicken or the egg?” Purple eggs come first.

Christmas Puzzles Card

I have designed many puzzles for children in my career and I always find it so fun. I try to have enough visual interest to hold attention and entice. The white space acts like a guide for the eye to start at the top and sift down around the puzzles to the bottom.
