Acrylic Gouache on canvas, 2.5 X 3.5

I created a piece to enter an art show claiming to be “an out-of-this-world exhibit.”
Unfortunately, my work was not selected for the Ford Gallery’s group show, May the Force Be with You. That’s ok that’s not the total purpose. We need a simple idea all people that, within one month, will be suffering from vocation, housing, food, and financial loss, can come together. If not this idea, think of another.
Today, we need to do what we can, but what can I do? Do what I do best – create the TOOLS for others to use to spread an idea. If: you can move or share a groove, you can teach or preach, you can settle or give a metal, you can share or be aware, you can feel or reveal, you can defend or be a friend, you can heal or appeal, you can act or share a fact, and finally, if you can write share truth. FEEL BETTER – TOGETHER. Please share.

A intricate pattern of an iron gate overlays a colorful garden scene with potted plants and vines. The composition combines vibrant colors and geometric shapes, creating a visually captivating piece.
I painted Roses In The Afternoon in for the OSA show in 2024. The concept came from a photograph I took at Peninsula Park Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.
Juror notes: This image grabbed me from the start. I love when an artist uses abstraction to define reality. Limited palette, strong design and beautiful technique. – Ron Stocke
